searching for answers, looking for where we belong, trying to become that one true me.

do we fail more than we succeed?

why are some so persuaded to violate basic human rights?
why are some so persuaded to indulge in material values?
why do so many avoid reflecting on themselves at all costs?

If horrors are the more exposed, what is the state of the world we currently live in?
If, surrounded by all this darkness, the sun can only rise,
who is pulling the strings to what end?

getting a little too abstract here, but at least there's a bud to blossom amidst the valley of shadows.

Valley as in Pioneer Valley? LOLS

Maybe these failures teach us more than we know. Naw meen? It's kind of like an analogy I've learned from Basketball. I forget the exact quote or where it came from, but... here it goes.

The other team may have won, but what did they win? They won the game, but we learned something more valuable. We can see how we can improve ourselves. We learned what we lacked, we learned our true selves. We can improve ourselves beyond their level and most importantly, our own level.

I feel like failures can ignite your passion to achieve more or destroy your morale. And hopefully, it's the first one and not the second xP

I have much to say for the first 3 questions, but I never have a strong persuasion in my answers, so I won't try xP Especially this late at night. GO TO SLEEP! lols

hey :O you cannot SEARCH for you. there's no way you can find YOURSELF in this world because you're UNIQUE. if you were able to find yourself in the real world, it wouldn't be YOU anymore now would it?! :O lol thus, if you were to search, search inside yourself :D and dont mind me, i'm only still awake after a long long time! :D and since i'm clearly out of my mindd i'm going to have some fun on your xanga! :D

you are supposed to fail. thats the bottom line lol only by failing can you succeed! benji frank .. i'm shortening his name because i'm too lazy to type it all. (benjamin franklin?!??!) he said this once.. i didn't fail. i only found 2000 ways how NOT to make a lightbulb. ... and then he figured it out afterwards :D

lol and human rights?!? lol rights and laws and rules are given to us by other people. OTHER PEOPLE declare to us what is right and what is wrong. there is no violating human rights, there is just doing what you think is right :D oh man... i'm so out of it! lol but LETS KEEP GOING! :DD

indulgence... thats simple! lol people indulge because they are lazy. they want the easy way to get happy and to get happy fast so they buy buy buy and waste money! but for the people who have discovered that indulgence is bad, they put their time in something more fulfilling, something that they're willing to work for and to keep working for it even after they've gotten it because it's always changing to keep you hooked :D  ... alas... we call that a significant other lol if it was really that easy to get one, you know they really weren't that significant in the first place :D oh BAD ME! :DDD

avoiding selfreflection?! they are only hiding from the truth! or rather do not and will not hear the truth! ... you know why?! lol BECAUSE THEY CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH! :OO lol and, no one really wants to hear their faults. (cept me of course. for a good reason) but really if anyone really understood... people who tell them their mistakes are actually the people who care to see this person change... for the better. it makes sense in a way. kinda. maybe. perhaps. in another light. with respect to ... ... i ran out of similar words lol next question! :DD

if horrors are the more exposed, what is the state of the world we currently live in? .. just typing it out so i can see it than having to scroll up and down lol with that being said, i shall use my PASS-A-QUESTION card and move onto the next question! :DD .... OH ALRIGHT, i'll answer it! :O lol lets see.. i WANTED to say, if they're more exposed, we should put some clothes on them! :DD but what is the point of hiding the horrors? ... in fact, now that i'm thinking about it. if the horrors are the more exposed, it would do well to show the world what used to be in hiding and to give the people who have lived life not knowing what horrors are so they better know what they can do to help or where they can put their efforts in in helping. so to go back to the question, if the current state of the world has exposed horrors, not only should we keep them unclothed (OH YES :DDD) but rather the world is a good place for being able to expose such things (where am i GOING WITH THIS?) but also the world can move on not only helping those better off but also those who aren't as lucky. ... i want to see some exposed horrors :D

if surrounded by darkness, and the sun can only rise, who is pulling the strings. (plus or minus a few words :D) ... hmm... this is a tough question lol i dont exactly have an answer yet.. but i think i've spent enough time writing enough of something for you to waste your time on! :D so enjoy reading! and ... WAY TO PICK UP MY PHONE CALL! :OO

In other words:

We're always trying to find a meaning in life, (generally not "the meaning of life" because most of us accepts the fact that other people's lives are different than their own).
As human beings, as social animals, we always seek to be in the company of others, though everyone has certain limits to the quantity or quality of where we find ourselves: do I belong in this circle of friends? is this school the right place for me? what kind of career should I work in? where should I move to?
Living life, we can't avoid changing ourselves because we are malleable, elastic and adaptive creatures. However, our desire for individuality polarizes us, and we want to find an authentic identity. This creates conflict, but with conflict comes peace.

However, sometimes it feels like we're not seeing as much bright, sunny days; sometimes we're just overwhelmed by darkness.

Horrors surround us. From "scary", gory movies to commercialization/normalization of greed to heightened media exposure to crimes, contemporary society can barely avoid seeing cruelty on a daily basis. What does this mean for our day and age?
Even more concretely:
A new wave of "horror movies" like Saw, Hostel, etc. portray psychos graphically selecting, torturing and killing humans. This is obviously seeping into popular culture as increased interest propelling more movies of this type is being produced, while tv shows and books create their own similar versions. Therefore more and more people are seeing this, especially the younger generations who are growing up in front of an electronic screen. Are we sending them a message that gruesomely murdering people isn't uncommon?
Businesses are no doubt toppling this current world. We are putting everything under an economic lens. We justify our actions with opportunity costs. We diminish human lives into statistical numbers. We let these companies delude us into believing that striving to get more of everything and anything is the only thing that will make us happy.
In all the news sources, there are always stories on some horrendous crime that happened somewhere. Whether it's some outrageous rape situation or an unheard of act of animal cruelty, people seem to write and read about these events as if they were entertainment. Which brings us back to the 1st reason, connected to the 2nd...
Are we now so desensitized that we have given up hope on changing anything--or worse, we don't even see anything wrong with what we see?
